Due to the metal scarcity during the Second World War, the characteristic horseshoe-shaped concrete overhead wire portals were used here instead of the traditional iron portals. These portals were designed in 1938 by ir. J. L. A. Cuperus and are only used between Hilversum and Blauwkapel.
