KLIMASHEVSKY Viktor Sergeevich 08/29/1950, Baku, Azerbaijan Trombonist, bass guitarist, pianist, arranger, Honored Artist of Kuban (1995), became known as the leader and conductor of a big band in Krasnodar. The boy was 12 years old when his parents took him to a concert with Eddie Rosner’s orchestra. Since then I have always loved big bands. In 1965 he graduated from a music school in Grozny, piano class, then the Baku Music College as a theorist (1970) and the Azerbaijan Conservatory, trombone class (1977). In 1970-1981 he worked in the Song and Dance Ensemble of the Red Banner Caspian Flotilla, rising from an ordinary musician to the chief conductor. In 1982 he moved to Sochi, organized a big band at the Avtomobilist Palace of Culture, a few years later he gave the group the status of a municipal orchestra and called it Sochi-Prestige Band.
