In 2008, merlintour in cooperation with AirEvents Limited organized their second Aviation Tour to Belarus. Minsk-1, the “Tempelhof of Minsk”, was located just a few kilometres South from the City Center and was eventually shut down on December 23, 2015 after 82 years of Belarusian Aviation History. This location used to be the home of OAO Minsk Civil Aircraft Repair Plant #407 to provide repair, upgrade and maintenance services for the Yak-40, Yak-42, Yak-52 and Tu-134 aircraft series. Minsk-1 also hosted a few number of domestic and regional flights to Kaliningrad and Gomel, operated by the Gomel-based operator Gomelavia This documentary features a morning charter onboard Gomelavia AN-24RV EW-47697 from Minsk-1 to Gomel returning later in the afternoon to join fun rides onboard IL-76 and AN-12. History of Antonov 24RV EW-47697 Airframe 27307604 was manufactured in 1972 at the Aviant Production Plant, performed her first flight on February 24, the same year and was delivered on March 3, 1972 to the Gomel Division of Aeroflot, registered CCCP-47697. CCCP-47697 was registered EW-47697 in Belarus in September, 1993 operating for the National Airline Belavia. In July, 1998, EW-47697 was transferred to Gomelavia, a state owned company, based in Gomel, operating until February 22, 2011, when Gomelavia ceased operations. After being stored for three years, EW-47697 was sold to Pskovavia in May, 2014, registered RA-47697. RA-47697 is reported stored since December 25, 2017 in St. Petersburg.
