Beautiful VILLA DEL BALBIANELLO / Lake Como / Italy (4K)

The beautiful Villa del Balbianello is known for its scenic terraced gardens and stunning views of Isola Comacina and the western shore of Lake Como. It’s the setting for several movies, including James Bond - Casino Royale, Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones, and A Month by the Lake. Villa del Balbianello is located near the town of Lenno from where you can get a taxiboat for a short ride or walk 1km through a park. You can buy tickets to see only the gardens or you can join a guided tour to see the interiors. The whole complex consists of two residential buildings, a church, and a portico that overlooks a little dock. The main building of Villa del Balbianello hosts some English and French furnishings, which date back to the 17th and 18th centuries. The villa was built in 1787 for Cardinal Angelo Maria Durini who set out to create the most beautiful garden on the Tremezzo Riviera. In 1976 the property was bought by the famous explorer Count Guido Monzino who dedicated much effort to restoring the house and its grounds. The upper floor of the villa is dedicated to him and his life. Today, the villa belongs to FAI (a fund for the preservation of the environment ) and is home to private events such as weddings, ceremonies and even film or photographic sets.
