At least 26 police officers were injured in clashes in Germany’s Giessen city during the Eritrean music festival on Saturday. The situation became tense after Eritrea’s autocratic ruler, Isaias Afwerki, tried to force his way to the event, according to AFP. Angered by the ruler’s presence, a group of Eritreans staged protests and pelted stones and even smoke bombs at the police officials.
