How to make an AMAZING model river: Making a Scene Vol #2

Get access to my new tutorial ebook series! (The ebook tutorials are now Patreon rewards, along with early access to YouTube videos. Any information given in the video about previous Patreon rewards may be out of date.) The Freehand Router and Styrogoo shown in this video were gifted to me by the Hot Wire Foam Factory: Do you want to know how to make the most amazing model river? With this latest volume in my Making a Scene tutorial series, you’ll be making a hyper-real river in no time. For this diorama I used 2-part epoxy resin for the river and Mod Podge for the ripples. Together, these make for some amazing water effects, but I upped the realism by modelling the river bed with stones and boulders. This diorama tutorial also covers making seafoam trees, using foam cutting tools, using Sculptamold, applying static grass and layering other ground cover. Primarily, though, it’s about modelling ultra-real water effects. This diorama took about 6 hours to build. Many of the materials and tools I use come with safety instructions. Please always read and follow these rather than simply copy what you see me or other people doing. Thanks for watching. I hope you enjoy it! Check out Luke Towan’s river, where I got the idea for the roots as mentioned in my video: Music: Beth by VYEN and Pink Horizon by Chris Haugen (YouTube audio library)
