My strumming pattern: (I use a thin plectrum) I use a mixture of two patterns (no problem just using one or the other) 1 2 3 4 1 2 3 4 DDuuDu D DuDu Down, down up, up down up Count 1: slightly more dominant downstroke on all strings in the chord 2: down up 3/4: up down up The up strokes tend to be light touches on the bottom 3 or 4 (thinner) strings “Ordinary Man” is the title song of the same named album by Christy Moore. Written by Grimsby musician Peter Hames, the song depicts a factory worker losing his job as the plant closes down, and his struggle to survive - and linked with the economic climate of Ireland (and Great Britain) at the time and the general dissatisfaction at government. Although the song originates from 1985 there are many similarities with the modern day political climate.
