Here is another piece from Auber’s comic masterpiece, “Fra Diavolo“, this time a barcarolle/serenade for the tenor antihero. The piece is written in the classic couplet form: a succession of two identical sections with the repeat to be decorated with additional ornamentation (as it is, thankfully, in the present rendition).
