Magdi Yacoub, a close friend of Diana’s and a world renown heart surgeon, founded “Chain of Hope“. This charity sponsors children who are unable to receive adequate treatement in their own country and brings them into the UK for operations. Arnaud Wambo from Cameroon had a rapidly degenerating heart condition and would have died had he not received the necessary corrective surgery. Arnaud was sponsored by the charity and Princess Diana visited him in Harefield Hospital and watched his surgery. Middlesex, 1996.
