ANCIENT CITY OF MAGNESIA LET’S KNOW

The ancient city of Magnesia. It is on the Ortaklar-Söke highway, within the borders of Tekin Village of the Ortaklar Subdistrict of Aydın Province, Germencik District. According to legend, the city was founded by Magnets from Thessalia. The location of the first Magnesia, founded by Magnets who came to Anatolia upon the prophecy and guidance of Apollo, is unknown. Diodor, the city of Athenian Thibron in BC, against the epidemics and the Persian danger caused by the constant change of bed of the Menderes River. He writes that he carries 400-399. Most likely, Thibron, rather than being a new city, must have brought the inhabitants of the city of Magnesia to Leukophyr at the foot of the Thorax (Silver) Mountain at the foot of today’s Magnesia and protected it there. For this reason, it would be correct to consider today’s Magnesia to have been founded in a later period.
