In the legendary Stax Studio: Time Is Tight by Booker T, Steve Cropper, Al Jackson Jnr and Donald ’Duck’ Dunn. Bookert T & the MGs were the Stax label house band, backing the likes of Otis Redding, Sam & Dave and Carla Thomas as well as having their own hits such as this and Green Onions. This is a live rendition excerpt of the original version of Time is Tight, with an extended intro. An interracial group in segregated Memphis Tennessee added to their uniqueness; the studio and label Stax were also a pioneering multiracial organisation.
