Winter Fat Biking Prairie Link Loop, Kananaskis, AB. Nov 26-2022

One of my favorite rides in the winter or summer. The trailhead leaves from the Powderface parking lot on HWY 66 just west of Elbow Falls. There is a highway gate at the Elbow Falls entrance that closes Dec 1st shutting access to the Powderface parking lot. If the gate is closed you can park on the shoulder of the highway and ride to the Powderface parking lot which is only a few hundred meters away. This ride has a few pretty solid climbs and starts with a steep climb right from the parking lot. Each climb is rewarded with a fun descent, the juice is worth the squeeze as I like to say! This trail is pretty much broken into three segments; Powderface Creek/Trail, Prairie Link and Prairie Creek. Once you make the turn onto Prairie Creek the trail does get busier with hikers so be aware of this on the descents. Team Old Goats!!
