THE BEATLES - ABBEY ROAD ALBUM COVER - The Making Of (Photo Session)

Compiled by Pino Pini & Gianni Rosati. Hats off to Iain Macmillan, author of the most recognisable album cover in pop music history - and certainly the most parodied. Linda McCartney also took many pictures during that memorable photo session. Macmillan, who died in 2006, once said of the image: “That photo’s been called an icon of the 1960s. I suppose it is. I think the reason it became so popular is its simplicity. It’s a very simple, stylised shot. Also it’s a shot people can relate to. It’s a place where people can still walk.“
