Sarastro (Matti Salminen) personifies the ideals of the Enlightenment, Humanism and a new political order, while the Queen of the Night (Elena Mosuc) embodies the old régime. Tamino (Piotr Beczala) starts his journey to spiritual perfection in a library, lined with a double-storied wall of books.
