The Alan Parsons Project - The Gold Bug (Official HD Video)

Official HD Video for “The Gold Bug“ by The Alan Parsons Project ’The Goldbug’ was the 5th and final single from the Alan Parsons Project’s 5th studio album The Turn Of A Friendly Card released in 1980. The song is largely instrumental except for some Sergio Leone style whistling from Alan Parsons and some wordless vocals by Chris Rainbow. The title references Edgar Allan Poe’s short story of the same name in which a man finds some pirate treasure after being bitten by a gold-coloured bug. Alan Parsons himself makes a rare appearance on this track playing echoes clarinet, autoharp and also provided the finger clicks and human whistle. Other regular APP musicians are playing along with Chris Rainbow on vocals. Andrew Powell arranged and conducted The Munich Chamber Opera orchestra. The video includes close up footage of a mysterious man walking alone.
