Cécile Chaminade - Passacaille,

Today I have some Chaminade for you, because I couldn’t find a score video of this piece. Actually I couldn’t find any recording on YT so this might be the first, but whatever, here we have a nice and elegant, pianistic (as always with Chaminade) piece, with AABA structure. A longer analysis would probably reveal lots of typical elements of her composition style. The beautiful B part contributes to the Passacaille character - although I even played it a lot slower than advised! Honestly, it sounds quite ugly so fast. One could easily argue that even this is too fast. I just tried to play “vivo“ ... As a side note, the score was bad to read, but it should be fine like that.
