’If it’s flooded, forget it’: Queensland smashed by destructive storms

QFES State Coordinator Steve De Pinto has advised Queenslanders that if it’s “flooded, forget it”. This comes after seven people are now known to have died after destructive storms smashed south-east Queensland on Christmas and Boxing Day. “If I might just add a safety plug about – If it’s flooded, forget it,” Mr De Pinto told Sky News Australia. “And (we’re) telling people not to drive into flood water and particularly not to swim in flood water. “You don’t know what’s under the water, you get snagged, and it’s impossible to swim against that moving water.”
