In order to prevent any risk of contaminating a potentially habitable Saturn moon, Cassini plunged into Saturn’s upper atmosphere and burned itself up. This is the grand opening as well as finale since humanity entered the era of space. To me, Cassini resembles the journey of our physical bodies, which also have time frames with a similar beginning and ending. What on earth can prove that we have really been here? There’s no true answer by itself, just like the ashes after Cassini burned up. Hence, I wrote a song named “Cassini”, which, around 2’43”, includes the actual count-down record when Cassini was launched to the space in 1997. The beginning is also the end point. Tang had invited Zhou Shen to collaborate a song, “The Doomsday Spacecraft”, on the show “Chuang”. This time the both entered the recording studio to reproduce “The Doomsday Spacecraft” and a new song, “Cassini”. With Tang’s cinematic arrangement and Shen Shen’s ethereal voice, they would bring audience travel to the boundless and mysterious universe once again, and then plunge into Saturn with Cassini.
