You’re never too young to choose how to age | Becky Blue | TEDxSioux Falls

Everyone is aging and everyone has choices to make regarding aging. Curiosity, joy, and serendipity awaits-–though our culture tells us the opposite. No more panicking when those milestone birthdays that end in zero come around — regardless of whether it’s 30 or 60 that’s making one anxious. Becky invites the audience to see themselves as whole beings composed of three parts — body, mind, and spirit. Through personal stories and scientific research, she explores the opportunities that a long view of life can hold. Viewers will have a new appreciation of the vibrancy provided by those living in the post-60 space, as well as a personal realization that there is no expiration date on living a life of health, impact, and wonder. Becky is an author, retired geriatric nurse, community volunteer, and is passionate about changing the culture of aging. She received her nursing degree at Augustana University and her graduate degree at South Dakota State University. She is constantly curious about the human condition and always asking, how do we live well together in body, mind, and spirit? This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at
