String Quartcat no.3 (Nero)

🎼🐱 String Quartcat no.3 - in memory of Nero. This commission was a very emotional one. Nero passed away of cancer recently and his human has lost most of Nero’s photos so her friend, Justin, reached out to commission this piece and by that, tried to help his friend ease the pain a little bit. In this piece, I tried to convey Nero’s sweet and affectionate character through the music. In order to do so, I used soft and gentle harmonies, a slow tempo with movement, and the smooth texture of the string quartet. There’s a repeating motif of sixteenth notes which adds some lightness to the piece - like a cat’s lightness.
