Golden Brown - The Stranglers (Harp Cover)

From harpsichord to harp. On hearing of the passing of Dave Greenfield I was inspired to put some time into this song. It’s haunting beauty really struck me as a child and I used to think of it as ’the ship song’ and thought it was about some kind of ocean adventure. Then learning of it’s actual more sombre meaning later in life it took on a whole new level of aching sadness. I love Dave Greenfield’s clever and utterly unique keyboard parts and I really think this song lit up the musical parts of my brain early on and made a big impact. Here’s my humble tribute to it.
