Archives (1997): Avril Lavigne’s First Performance with Me and Friends

This was the first time that I ever sang with Avril. My how we have all changed! I look back at this with the fondest of memories and happy chuckles. It was in 1997 on the banks of the Napanee River at an outdoor variety show. Also joining me in the singing of my song called The Nessie was Cliff Trott, Andy Palmer and Adrienne Trott. After meeting Avril and her parents I would write 4 songs for Avril, 3 of which were professionally recorded and used by others to help promote her in the U.S. as she was being discovered by the music industry.
