Adam Savage Explores Cal Academy’s Galapagos Collection!

One of the great science museums is San Francisco’s California Academy of Sciences, both a natural history museum and a working research facility founded over 150 years ago. Adam recently visited the Academy’s Institute for Biodiversity Science and Sustainability to browse its back stacks and learn the history and care of over 46 million scientific specimens collected from global expeditions. Here’s how researchers are digitizing specimens with modern scanning technologies to help the public better understand evolution and the interconnectedness of organisms and ecosystems.
