Electric Engraving Artist (1965)

Braintree, Essex. Artist Jim Hayes, who use an electric engraving device for drawing and painting pictures. M/S of Jim Hayes at work with electric engraver he uses aluminium sheet as his canvas. C/U of the drawing the artist is working on - a picture of Jesus Christ. The commentator tells us that his vibro tool drawing instrument makes “..lines by a series of dots.“ Various shots of previous pictures that the artist has done, including a biblical shepherd holding a lamb, a drawing of Pope John, an Elizabethan house and Jesus on the cross. M/S’s and C/U’s of Mr Hayes painting the engraving of Jesus. The artist rubs some paint into the engraving and holds it up.
