Together, we traveled to construction sites, laughed, stole cherries, and played various games. One of these games was summoning gnomes in an old abandoned house where a fortune teller used to live. This event, though a bit frightening, left an imprint in our childhood hearts. Thinking back to that moment, I couldn’t help but remark on what childhood games were interesting at that time. Without modern technology, our souls and imaginations found entertainment in summoning devils and the Queen of Spades. This snippet of childhood is a nostalgic recollection of a time when we could explore the world around us without limits. One bright and sunny summer morning, we set out to summon a colored gnome in an abandoned house. This is a game we are familiar with from California, where it was not successful. This day was different—the silhouette of a little man in glass appeared, which excited us. But joy was soon replaced by fear as the gnome’s face distorted and smoothly disappeared, and the glass shattered into tiny shards. We scattered as if pursued by this sinister creature. All this was unusual and frightening, and we had to face the consequences in the form of exhausted shampoo in the bathroom, which caused bewilderment to our parents. The incident, though mysterious, was a lifelong memory. Meeting Mike after many years only confirmed that we had both seen and experienced it together. Childhood is a time when the boundaries between reality and imagination are washed away, and childhood experiences remain in our souls. Of course, there are other mysterious stories from our lives, but they already deserve a separate story. So, this story from childhood shows how important it is to preserve memories and share them with others. After all, childhood experiences and games are the foundation of our personalities and help us grow up. Let’s not forget those moments that made us who we are today.
