Paul & Chani Love Theme | Dune: Part Two

After winning the Oscar for ‘Dune: Part 1’ (2021), Hans Zimmer has created another exhilarating and epic soundtrack for ‘Dune: Part 2’. Among the returning themes from Part 1 is a love theme for Paul and Chani. This theme is a reworked and repurposed version of a melody heard on the track ‘House Atreides’, from The Dune Sketchbook album. The love theme is wistful and innocent sounding, played primarily on the duduk, and featuring the characteristic flowy ‘spice’ sound we hear across Zimmer’s Dune albums, almost like a rainmaker. This theme is also heard with powerful synths, drums and vocals at different times in the film, perfectly reflective of where Paul and Chani’s relationship is.
