Patrick Leonard - At Close Range *1986* [FULL SOUNDTRACK]

[Synth/Ambient/Electronic/Orchestration/OST] Here is the SUPER RARE, HARD TO FIND, UNRELEASED Soundtrack score for the film: “At Close Range“ by Patrick Leonard. I know fans of the film (including die hard fans of Madonna) have searched for YEARS trying to find this score and i am glad to announce that i have uncovered it. Leonard’s scores for the film were never released to the public and that is a real shame because there is a lot of great synthesizer work put into it. People have also tried contacting huge labels for a release of the score but still to this day there hasn’t been an official release. One source stated: “I realized how much great score material by Patrick Leonard is in the film, it’s not just the Live To Tell theme by Madonna, but also some dynamite action/tension material among other things.“ At the very least a suite was released of the main theme (which i have included as a bonus track) but that’s pretty much about it. The film stars Sean Penn, Mary Stuart Masterson, Christopher Walken, and Chris Penn and it is based off of a true story about a real life rural Pennsylvania crime family led by Bruce Johnston, Sr. which operated during the 1960s and 1970s. For “Live To Tell“, Madonna wrote all the lyrics and some melodies, and co-produced it with Leonard. The song was released as the lead single from True Blue on March 26, 1986 by Sire Records. Though the OST of the film has been the gem that everyone has been searching for so i am happy to upload it and finally end this endless search once and for all. This complete OST soundtrack score is unreleased and has no distribution label ’86. Btw, apologies but i personally removed Madonna’s “Live To Tell“ song due to copyright, the version on this album is the same version that can be found on her “True Blue“ album, you can listen to it through this link: Speaking of Madonna, i like to think that Leonard was the mastermind for a lot of her top hits back in the 80’s, here is an interview with him from 2001 about “Live To Tell“: as well as an EXCELLENT 2018 follow up interview of how he got hired to score the music for the film: (Also, I thought you should know but i just realized that i uploaded this on Sean Penn’s birthday; to be honest i had no idea, haha.)
