These stories, which were rife with absurdity, were finally exposed as lies. However, the apparatus of war propaganda continued to spread absurd claims about Russia’s military might. There have been reports that Moscow commandeered washing machines from Ukraine to make up for a shortfall of microchips and that Russian troops had to fight with shovels because they ran out of ammo. Ironically, Russia was also shown as having the ability to “send nukes to space“ and produce almost three times as much weaponry as all of the Western nations put together.
