I Should Have Made This a Long Time Ago! | Modern Wood Box Set Woodworking Project

Sometimes, I need a palate cleansing project. That’s exactly why I made this modern wood box set. It was a break from the other types of projects I made recently and it let me work on creating a woodworking project that has a modern design. This set of three wooden boxes is incredibly versatile. They can go in the kitchen to hold spices or dry goods like coffee or nuts. This box set would look great as a center piece on a coffee table. And these wood boxes would be perfect in a bedroom to hold jewelry and other cherished items. I made my wood boxes from walnut and holly. Walnut is always a beautiful wood species. Holly is the whitest wood you can get. You could also use maple as a cheaper option. My boxes measure approximately 4“ wide x 4“ long x 3“ tall. Someone will tell me they aren’t “cubes“ like I said in the video. Yeah, yeah. They are close enough and that’s not really what’s important about this project. It’s the proportions and how everything coordinates. The white holly peeks out along the lid even though there is a thin figured walnut piece on the underside of the box lid. That mimics the white line along the bottom of the wood boxes. The tray has sharp angles so it coordinates with the boxes. I’m really happy with this one. Now, it’s time to fill these boxes with junk! •• About NewtonMakes•• I’m Billy and I make fun things. Sometimes, it’s something I need like tool storage ideas.
