Things have been really busy for me over the past month. I didn’t have time to write a new arrangement for this latest upload, so I decided to record the Mozart/Thalberg arrangement of “Lacrimosa“ instead. This is an amazingly beautiful piece of music (some of you might remember it from the movie “Amadeus“—if not, check it out!). Written on three staves, this piece is deceptively difficult. The biggest challenge is to balance the melodic line with the rest of the texture, which is often very thick and spread between the hands. Keeping a nice pace so that the lyricism can shine through is also a challenge. Also, since this has been a particularly difficult time in the world for a lot of people, I added in something a little different to the video.
