3 charged with promotion of prostitution in McLennan County sting

McLennan County deputies arrested three people on promotion of prostitution charges in a sting operation over the weekend and referred two victims to local nonprofits for further support, McLennan County Sheriff Parnell McNamara announced Wednesday at a press conference. One of the women was turned over to Unbound Now Waco while the other was sent to Jesus Said Love to receive assistance, McNamara said. “We can rescue these women, but Unbound can save them,” McNamara said. “We take them out of this environment they’re in, this horrible situation where they’re being pimped, trafficked by these horrible, horrible traffickers. We get them safely to the sheriff’s office and we turn them over to Unbound, who takes them from here to a safe house.” Unbound Now Waco Director Kristi Hayes said women who end up in a trafficking situation often are vulnerable.
