Nina Hagen - Unbeschreiblich Weiblich (Live)

Dumb intro, and she sets in one bar too early. Other than that, this may very well be the best rock ever to come from Germany. Loony as is, the former opera singer has a great voice and the band (named Spfliff if memory serves me) is just magnificent. Great arrangements, great lyrics, great performance. It could have done without the pseudo-punk image, but oh was 78. The alternative was disco. Intro: Girl goes to the dr. Dr. informs her she’s pregnant. Screech!!! Paraphrased lyrics: I was pregnant, felt ready to puke I didn’t want it, out of the question I’m popping pills and anyway I’m not having any little kids, oh no Why should I fulfill my female duty? For who? For me? For you? I don’t feel like doing duty. Not for you, not for me, I have no duty. When it was over, I felt ready to puke. Now I can bitch about it I’m popping pills and anyway, I’m not having any little kids... Lee-Ann has a different plan Simone de Beauvoir says “God forbid!“ And before the first babies start to cry, I’ll have to liberate myself first Suddenly I feel incredibly feminine - feminine (sounds better in important 35 years ago)
